Prompt Templates

Prompt templates help auditors keep recurring review instructions consistent across repositories, sponsor fixes, and follow-up analysis.

Why it matters

  • Manual prompts drift between reviews and make results harder to compare.
  • Audit teams often repeat patterns such as accounting review, access-control review, or Git diff review.
  • Custom templates let consultants encode their own review style without adding an AI API to the app.

How it works

  • Start from built-in audit-oriented templates.
  • Create custom templates with names, descriptions, tags, and reusable body text.
  • Attach a template to a workspace preset or one-off bundle.
  • Review and edit final user instructions before export.

Example workflow

  1. Choose a repository and selected files.
  2. Pick a built-in audit template or custom team template.
  3. Add task-specific assumptions or questions.
  4. Run secret scanning and export the bundle.

Example template shape

Name: Security review
Tags: security, regression, audit
Body:
Review the selected files for authorization and state-handling regressions.
Prioritize high-impact behavior changes and missing checks.
  Separate confirmed issues from hypotheses.

Limitations

  • Templates improve consistency, but they do not guarantee useful model output.
  • Templates should be reviewed when project context or review scope changes.
  • PastePrompt prepares prompts; users still choose the external LLM and evaluate the result.
