Download PastePrompt for macOS.

PastePrompt is macOS-first. Download the DMG for your Mac, verify the release details, then install the app locally before selecting a repository.

The current public release is a Universal DMG for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Free, Pro, and Founder users install the same app; paid access is unlocked by importing a signed license file.

System Requirements

  • macOS version: macOS 11.0 or later
  • Current public download: Universal DMG for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
  • A local repository on disk that your macOS user can read.
  • A paid personal license file if you want to unlock Pro or Founder features.

Install Instructions

  1. Download the Universal DMG for your Mac.
  2. Open the DMG from your Downloads folder.
  3. Drag PastePrompt to Applications.
  4. Launch PastePrompt from Applications.
  5. Select a repository from your local filesystem.
  6. Import your license file if you purchased a paid plan.

Signed Builds and Gatekeeper

This release is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized. macOS Gatekeeper should be able to verify the app developer identity and notarization ticket when you open the downloaded app.

Gatekeeper is the macOS safety check for apps downloaded from the internet. It can ask you to confirm first launch, block unknown builds, or require extra approval in System Settings. Treat those prompts as a reason to verify the download source and checksum before opening the app.

After downloading, compare the DMG hash with the published checksum. On macOS you can run shasum -a 256 /path/to/PastePrompt.dmg in Terminal.

Release Availability

Published downloads are listed only after the artifact, checksum, release notes, and signing/notarization status are verified for that platform.

Current public release

v0.1.0 is available as a Universal DMG for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized. Verify the checksum before opening the DMG, and read the release notes before replacing an existing install.

Other platforms

The Universal DMG covers both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Separate architecture-specific downloads are not currently published; they can be added later if file size becomes a real issue.

Troubleshooting Install Issues

Most install problems come from macOS download trust prompts, folder permissions, moved repositories, or license files that do not match the current release.

macOS says the app cannot be opened

Confirm the DMG came from the configured PastePrompt release link, compare the SHA256 checksum, and make sure you are opening the current signed and notarized release. If macOS still blocks launch, delete the DMG, download it again, and contact support with the exact warning text.

The app asks for file permissions

PastePrompt needs explicit access to repositories you choose. Grant the requested folder access, then select the repository through the app instead of relying on a previously moved folder path.

PastePrompt cannot access a repo

Check that the repository still exists, that your macOS user can read it, and that it is not only reachable through a blocked external drive, symlink, or restricted system location.

The download checksum does not match

Do not launch the app. Delete the DMG, download it again from the configured release link, and contact support if the checksum still differs.

License import issue

Use the license file from the purchase or support flow. If the app rejects it, keep the file unchanged and contact support with the version number and the exact error message.

Install locally, then build your first context bundle.

Start with the install guide, verify licensing if you purchased a paid plan, and review the security model before moving sensitive repository context into an external LLM tool.
