License Terms

This license page explains Free, Pro, Founder, and team-use concepts for the PastePrompt macOS app.

Plain-language policy

This page summarizes the current PastePrompt policy in plain language. It is not legal advice; if formal contract terms apply to your purchase or organization, those written terms control.

App license

PastePrompt is licensed, not sold. The macOS DMG may be downloaded publicly, but paid features are unlocked with a signed personal license file. A license gives you permission to install and use the app under the applicable plan terms. Transfer rights, support, updates, and termination are governed by the plan and written purchase terms.

Free plan

The Free plan is intended for local trial and basic context workflows, including the published 64k selected-token budget. Feature limits should match the Pricing page and app release behavior.

Pro subscription

Pro is intended for professional repeatable context workflows. Launch Pro access is delivered through a signed license file issued to the buyer email. Subscription duration, renewal, cancellation, feature access, updates, and support are governed by the written subscription terms for the purchase.

Founder license

Founder Lifetime is a limited launch offer delivered through a signed license file issued to the buyer email. The exact lifetime scope, covered versions, update access, transfer rules, and support expectations are governed by the written terms delivered during purchase. Do not infer terms from the name alone.

License files

License files are personal credentials. Keep the original file private, do not commit it to a repository, and do not post it in issue trackers, public chats, screenshots, or support threads. The simple launch flow verifies licenses locally and does not enforce a per-device activation count.

Team use

Team use may require separate licensing, named-seat rules, organization billing, or written approval. Contact support before sharing licenses across an organization.

Restrictions

Unless the final terms say otherwise, users should not:

  • resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially redistribute PastePrompt licenses;
  • share license keys, license files, or activation credentials with unauthorized users;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or bypass licensing controls where legally enforceable;
  • use PastePrompt to process repositories they are not authorized to access.

License activation

License activation behavior may vary by release. Read License Activation for current user instructions and troubleshooting guidance.
